Earn Short-Term Career Certificates as well as Two-Year Degrees Career Pathways is a program that offers students who qualify, free career training and college classes. This program also assist students overcome barriers that have kept them from obtaining training and education necessary to succeed in this changing world. Pathways assist with the following:
- Childcare
- Gasoline Vouchers
- Job Search
- Career Counseling
- Tuition Assistance
- Textbook Assistance
- Tutoring Assitance
- Employment Assistance while in school and careers upon graduation
DO YOU NEED A GED FIRST? CAREER PATHWAYS WILL REFER YOU TO THE ADULT EDUCATION DEPARTMENT AT OUACHITA TECHNICAL COLLEGE. THEY WILL PROVIDE FREE HELP EARNING YOUR GED.
DON’T KNOW HOW TO GET STARTED? CAREER PATHWAYS WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH A CAREER COUNSELOR TO HELP YOU CHOOSE CLASSES. GET ENROLLED, RECEIVE TUTORING AND MANY OTHER THINGS TO HELP YOU.
IS IT HARD TO APPLY? No, the application process takes only a few hours and includes assessments that determine your current educational level and career interests. Please start now and set up an appointment to start your application process and bring the following documents with you:
- Previous Year Federal Tax Returns
- Current letter from DHS in your name stating all benefits you currently receive (food stamps, ARKids, Medicaid, TEA)
- Copies of children’s birth certificates and social security cards.
- Applicant’s driver license or Photo ID
- Applicant’s social security card
- Applicant’s high school or college transcript
CAREER PATHWAYS ELIGIBILITY
In order to enroll in the Career Pathways Program, you must qualify to receive benefits. Basic eligibility requirements include:- You must be a parent with children under the age of 21 living in your home.
- You must be receiving Transitional Employment Assistance (TEA) now, or have received TEA in the past.
- Either receive Medicaid, Food Stamps, or TEA cash assistance;
- Must have annual income below 250% of federal poverty level (about $42,925 annually for a family of three)
